LEBEC, Calif. — A pickup truck caught fire on Southbound Interstate 5 near the top of the hill, about 1 mile north of the Fort Tejon exit.
Kern County Fire crews arrived and kept the fire from getting up the hillside. KCFD said there was a dirt access road right above where the fire started, giving them a natural break to keep the fire contained.
The pickup truck was completely destroyed but no one was hurt. The No. 1 lane was blocked for a short time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
