UPDATE (12/20, 3:19 p.m.): Fewer than 1,000 people are still without power in east Bakersfield after a car hit a pole and knocked out power this afternoon.

PG&E estimates the power should be restored to the remaining 905 people in the dark by 4:15 p.m.

PG&E is working to restore power to 2,883 customers in East Bakersfield after a car hit a pole at around 1 p.m.

They expect power to be restored by 5 p.m.
