On November 13, around 6:00 p.m., Tehachapi police officers were called to a traffic collision on Tucker Road, just north of West Valley Road.

 

Officers arrived at the location and discovered a male adult pedestrian had been struck by an SUV, which was traveling southbound on Tucker Road.  The pedestrian suffered significant trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

 

The investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing Tucker Road in an area not marked with crosswalks and was not seen by the driver of the SUV.  There was no evidence of the driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident and speed does not appear to be a factor.

 

The identity of the deceased pedestrian is being withheld pending the appropriate notification to the next of kin.
