Officials identify suspect wanted for fatal shooting at La Mirage Motel Friday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department has identified a man suspected of fatally shooting another man at the law Mirage Motel in South Bakersfield Friday night.

A BPD press release, describes John Glenn Hardison Junior as a 46-year-old man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, who was last seen wearing a blue jacket, white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police say they were notified of the shooting by a ShotSpotter acitivation alert, which occurred at about 10:44 p.m. near the La Mirage Motel, located at 525 Union Avenue.

When officers arrived they found an adult male suffering from major injuries. Police say the man died at the scene.
