One man is dead after a four vehicle crash that occurred on Northbound Highway 99 near Woollomes Avenue in Delano, Sunday morning.
An official with the CHP says the accident happened at around 5:40 am.
Four vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in the accident.
CHP officials say one vehicle hit another one when the collision began.
CHP officials added that one of the drivers ran across the freeway to assist the drivers that hit him.
The man was stuck by another vehicle and later died of his injuries.
KCSO identified the man killed in the crash as 27-year-old Jesus Garcia of Bakersfield.
Northbound 99 was for closed at Woollomes for hours. Cars were diverted off the freeway by officers with the Delano police.
Officials with the CHP Central Division tweeted the slow lane was reopened shortly after 8:45 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.
The identities of the people involved in the crash have not been released.
