----------
Two schools in Northeast Bakersfield are on lockdown Tuesday morning as law enforcement searches for a possibly armed suspect.
KCSO confirmed with 23ABC just before 8 a.m., a bus driver going to Washington Middle School had a young teenager wave what they believed to be a gun at them near River Blvd. and Jeffrey St.
The teen is estimated to be about 13 or 14 years old. He's a Hispanic male, 5'5", wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
KCSO said they do not know where the suspect is now and do not believe he was trying to get on the bus.
Bakersfield City School District officials confirmed with 23ABC that Noble Elementary and Washington Middle School are both on lockdown "as a precaution while law enforcement investigates a report of a possibly armed person in the area."
Both Kern County Sheriff's deputies and Bakersfield Police officers are searching in the area.
