There's a new Bakersfield Police officer who is on the force thanks in part to a Vietnam veteran.
BPD shared pictures on social media Thursday morning, introducing the newest police K9, Jack.
BPD was able to get Jack thanks to a donation from Bakersfield resident Carol Craig.
Jack was named after Carol's late husband, Jack Craig.

According to a BPD tweet, Jack Craig served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, earning two purple hearts, four bronze stars and a "V" device.
