A new restaurant will be added to the Downtown Bakersfield dining scene. The restaurant, Mamma Mia, is now open in place of where Happy Hour Bar and Tapas used to be.

Mamma Mia has a Facebook page showcasing new photos of the restaurant and Yelp reviews have been posted.

According to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, a "Public Notice of Application for Ownership Change" requires the notice to be up for 30 days before owners can continue the restaurant opening process. 

The Central Bakersfield store, located at 1804 Chester Ave. and is opened for lunch and dinner, Monday-Saturday: 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM, and 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
