Jose Gurrola was officially sworn in Tuesday as the new mayor of Arvin.
Gurrola was formerly a city council member in Arvin. He defeated current mayor Jose Flores and fellow council member Jess Ortiz in last month’s election.
Gurrola received more than 1,200 votes, 438 more than Flores received.
