BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Severe weather brought a number of warnings to Kern County Tuesday.
The National Weather Service issue both tornado and thunderstorm warnings during the evening hours, affecting several areas of the county.

NWS Hanford has issued an “Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory” for Central Kern County Until 1015 PM PDT.
* At 720 PM PDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain causing urban and road flooding in the vicinity of Bakersfield.

A warning that came just after 6 p.m. stated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is located 11 miles NW of California City moving north at 20 mph. This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of the desert.

Earlier the National Weather Service issues tornado warning through 6:15 p.m. for Kern County desert areas including California City, Mojave, North Edwards, North of Edwards Air Force Base.
