KERN COUNTY, Calif. — There are activities all over the county focused on uniting communities with local law enforcement. It's National Night Out.
The Bakersfield Police Department will be holding its event from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Rabobank Convention Center. There will be entertainment, resource booths and some displays from the department's K-9 unit, SWAT team, and bomb squad.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office will be at its headquarters on Norris Road in Bakersfield from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. They will also have resources and units out there to get to know.
The Tehachapi Police Department will be out at Central Park in Tehachapi from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. More than 30 organizations will be on hand to provide resources and information.
And Delano Police will hold its National Night Out at Cesar Chavez Park from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
All events are free to everyone.
