Congress has passed the National Defense Authorization Act, which contains several state priorities, including authorization for a critical military construction project in the 23rd District.
The 23rd district includes various parts of Kern County, including Bakersfield, Frazier Park, Kernville, and many other neighboring cities.
The NDAA bill will bring improvements to several California military bases, as well as the flight test engineering lab complex at Edwards Air Force Base. The new legislation is also said to ensure that construction progress remains on schedule to rebuild Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
NDAA had bipartisan support including House Representatives Kevin McCarthy and T.J. Cox.
