McFarland holding special council meeting to discuss missing city manager's job performance

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The McFarland City Council is scheduled to be holding a special closed session meeting tonight for the public employee performance evaluation of the City Manager, John Wooner.

The city of McFarland has not confirmed with 23ABC that this meeting is still scheduled to run and 23ABC has not been able to confirm whether this meeting was planned before the disappearance of Wooner.

However, the agenda for the meeting was post on the city's website on May 15 at 4:30 p.m., a day after Wooner was last seen.

Wooner has been reported as missing under suspicious circumstances since Tuesday. Wooner was last seen on Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bakersfield at around 5:30 p.m.

Wooner is described as a 57-year-old white man at 6 feet tall and 300 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white dress shirt and khaki pants.

He was last seen driving a Silver Dodge Durango with CA #1390353.
