MCFARLAND, Calif. — According to McFarland Unified School District, a McFarland High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave following accusations that she sexually abused a student.
In a letter to the community, the superintendent S. Aaron Resendez, said the alleged incident involving Elvia Gonzalez "came to light" on Saturday, October 12 when a student showed the principal inappropriate and incriminating content on his cell phone.
Gonzalez was arrested on Saturday and immediately placed on administrative leave by the district, according to the superintendent's letter. Transparent California, a public pay database within the state, listed Gonzalez as the school's math teacher.
In the letter, Resendez goes on to say that the district takes the allegations very seriously and they worked with law enforcement to help them proceed with Gonzalez's criminal case.
