Mayor Harvey Hall was honored Monday at a surprise event for his work with the Kern County Homeless Collaborative.

Mayor Hall has been working for 18 years to end homelessness in Bakersfield.

The mayor said veteran homelessness has increased, but his work is not yet done. He will continue his work with the collaborative after his term in office is up.
