A claim was made on Tuesday on the body of mass murderer Charles Manson.
Michael Channels, a pen pal of Manson's, according to TMZ, said Manson left his remains to him.
Channels filed a probate case in Kern County on Nov. 28.
Manson, 83, died in a Bakersfield hospital on Nov. 19.

The Kern County Sheriff's Coroner's Office confirmed they have possession of Manson's body. KCSO took the body in as a courtesy to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
CDCR said anyone with a possible claim to Manson's remains or possessions had 10 days after his death to make those claims known.

If Manson's body was not claimed in that time, he would likely be cremated and his ashes kept in a mausoleum in Union Cemetery in Bakersfield.
