TEHACHAPI, Calif. — UPDATE at 4 p.m. June 6: The Kern County coroner says Kelly Rees Pitts, 57, is the victim of a homicide that happened Wednesday night in Tehachapi.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to determine cause and manner of death.

Tehachapi Police Department says it is investigating a homicide in the area of 400 Apaloosa Court.
On Wednesday, officers were dispatched out to the scene around 2 p.m. following a report of a shooting. When cops arrived they found a man suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. He was transported to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries.
Tehachapi police arrested Wendy Elizabeth Howard, 50, at the scene of the shooting. She is currently booked at the Central Receiving Facility for murder.
The identity of the victim will be released when the next of kin is contacted by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
