Posted

A man who drove from Santa Maria to Taft in a "fit of jealousy" to confront the mother of his child was found guilty today on four counts.

Alberto Sosa Cisneros was convicted of first-degree residential burglary, criminal threats, assault with force likely to commit great bodily injury, and corporal injury on a fellow parent.

On June 19th, 2017 around 1:00 a.m., Cisneros drove from Santa Maria to Taft and entered the victim's home where she and her two children lived.

Cisneros attempted to smother and strangle her with his hands while telling her he was going to get rid of her.

The victim said she had been abused by Cisneros for 10 years but this was the first time she reported the domestic violence.

Cisneros will be sentenced on November 6th. He faces up to 7 years and 8 months in prison.
