The man caught on camera punching his child has pleaded guilty in a Bakersfield courtroom Friday morning.
Twenty-three-year-old Justin Whittington was in court at a pre-trial conference Friday morning.
The District Attorney's office has released information that Whittington would be charged with misdemeanor child abuse.
Whittington was sentenced to 4 years of probation and 4 days of jail, which he already served.
Whittington is also required to do 200 hours of community service and must complete parenting classes and neglect classes.
He was served a protective order of no forceful violence against the child.

Whittington was arrested in April after a store employee turned over video footage of him slapping his child to the ground.
Originally Whittington was arrested on a felony count of willful cruelty to a child.
The DA said the charge was downgraded based on how traumatic the injury was to the child.
