As part of Black History Month celebrations, Bakersfield College selected a real "gamer" to take part in their Distinguished Speaker Series. Gordon Bellamy is a professor at USC and worked for EA Sports helping design games including "Madden."
It was Bellamy who pushed game designers to make games more authentic by featuring players with black skin tone. Up until 1995 all players in the Madden football games only had white skin tone.
Again you can hear Bellamy's story Tuesday during BC's distinguished speaker series at 2 p.m. You can watch it on the Bakersfield College Student Government Association Facebook page.
