BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — For the third year, local teens are collecting jeans and gently-used clothing items for homeless teenagers in Kern County. The campaign is called Teens for Jeans and the Bakersfield group of teens are asking the community to donate.
Today, the group of teenagers will accept donations at Wilson Park from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Last year the teens collected 736 jeans along with other clothing items. The goal for this year's campaign is to collect more than 800 jeans this year.
All donations collected will go to the Dream Center of Kern County.
