The Bureau of Land Management says three people were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation from the Onyx Fire.
That fire covered 221 acres, but is 80 percent contained.
The blaze broke out around 6 p.m. Wednesday after two homes caught fire.
Embers from those flames then spread to nearby brush. That brush fire grew to about 221 acres.
KCFD officials say three adults and six children were displaced by the blaze.
They say they've surrounded the fire and will keep it from growing. They're currently in the process of mopping up any hot spots.
