Bakersfield movie theatre set to open June 26

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — With much of the state in the middle of reopening, a local movie theater is preparing to get people back in its seats.

Studio Movie Grill's Bakersfield location is reopening next Friday, June 26, according to its website.

Tickets are actually available for purchase right now, with multiple 'classics' on the schedule.

Five dollar tickets are available for "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "Wonder Woman" and tickets for "Space Jam" are available for $1.

According to a statement by the owner of the Cineworld Group, the Cineworld and Regal Cinemas are expected to reopen by July 10.

The company will start to slowly reopen next week.

Their goal is to open their doors shortly after the 4 of July.

The opening will feature screenings of "Mulan "Wonder Woman 1984" and director Christopher Nolan's new film "Tenet."

Edwards Cinemas at the marketplace is a Regal Theater, but it's not known if it will be reopening by July 10.
