Levy Premium Foodservice Limited Partnership ("Levy") and The Westin Monache Resort of Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort and the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area have issued letters detailing the reduction of hours and the permanent layoff of various employees.
While by law these letters are meant to be issued within 60 days notice, these letters were issued June 26 a little over a month after temporary furloughs were announced.
Starting in April, due to the pandemic, these businesses furloughed employees on a temporary basis but as COVID-19 has spread, the decision was made to make some of these furloughs permanent.
The Westin Monache Resort has terminated the employment of 36 employees while Levy has terminated the employment of 23 employees effective August 1 and Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has reduced the hours of 201 employees and terminated the employment of 94 employees citing that these employees may not be reinstated.
