Kern County Sheriff’s Office will ask the Board of Supervisors to approve an item to get a new Lenco Bearcat armored vehicle for the SWAT team on Tuesday,
The Special Weapons and Tactics team currently has one armored vehicle but needs two. They had two but one was involved in a rollover accident in 2012.
The new vehicle will cost $330,000.
