Kern County announced Friday that they were extending their essential staffing only model to May 15th. During this period, most County buildings are closed to the public with only essential services being offered.
The county originally moved to the essential staffing model on March 16th. On March 31st the extended the closure until May 1st.
Essential services include public sheriff, fire department, probation, district attorney and public defenders; health and human services such as public health, aging and adult services, and child support services; airports, animal services, and public works.
