KCSO: Two victims struck by gunfire in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County Sheriff deputies responded to a call for a report of a shooting in the area of 1300 Flower Street on Tuesday just before 5:45 p.m.

According to officials, there were two victims, a 27 year old and a 16 year old who were in the parking lot area of an apartment complex when at least one suspect walked up and began firing rounds.

Deputies located multiple shell casings in the area and bullet strikes to the vacant residence.

One victim was struck in the chest and the other was struck in the leg. According to KCSO, both victims were transported to Kern Medical with non-life threatening injuries.

Suspects have not been identified at this time.
