The victim of a drowning was found in Lake Isabella on Sunday morning.
A law enforcement source says the body of 65-year-old Larry Chastain was found on Sunday; the source also says that family of the victim has been contacted and notified.
KCSO began investigating a possible drowning in Lake Isabella on Saturday after witnesses claim they saw a man go under the water.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. at the Auxiliary Dam Campground.
Deputies say Chastain was underwater for five minutes after trying to retrieve a boogie board that had floated away.
"He obviously just became exhausted because the wind continued to blow the board out further," said Sergeant McMinn with the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
"And finally he was exhausted and began to call for help, and at that time he went under water."
The family has set up a GoFundMe page where anyone can donate.
Family says money raised will go towards a memorial service and to help support Chastain's teenage daughter.
