KCSO investigating double homicide in Southeast Bakersfield Sunday night

The Kern County coroner has identified 30-year-old Emilio Diaz Chavez of Los Angeles as one of the victims shot to death Sunday night.

A postmortem examination was performed and the cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Two people are dead following a shooting in Southeast Bakersfield Sunday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. on East Fairview Road and Garber Way, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they found a man in the street with multiple gun shot wounds. He died at the scene.

KCSO said deputies canvased the area and found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds at Rexland Acres Park. She also died at the scene.

According to KCSO, there is no suspect information at this time. Officials do say that a white sedan was seen driving away after the shooting.
