LAMONT, Calif. (KERO) — On Tuesday, Kern County fire crews were responding to a medical call in Lamont when they returned to their truck to see something unexpected.
Around 4 a.m., as two firefighters assisted in the call, a third firefighter remained by the doorway observing to see if assistance would be needed. According to KCFD, the third firefighter thought he heard what he believed to be a firework.
When all three firefighters returned to the truck, they found a bullet hole in the driver's side windshield.
The captain notified the emergency communication center and they alerted law enforcement. The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
