KCSO: 25-year-old woman strangled to death

Officials with the Kern County Sheriff's Office say a 25-year-old woman was strangled to death during an incident that occurred back on June 30th. 

The coroners' office released the cause of the death on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 11:59 p.m. on the 1000 block of McDonald Way in Bakersfield on June 30th.  

The woman is identified as Jessica Lee Hayes of Bakersfield. 

"After completing an investigation the cause of death is strangulation and the manner of death is homicide," KCSO officials said in their statement. 

The case is still under investigation.
