The Kern County Sheriff's Department said 10-year-old Ayddan West was shot in the stomach last weekend in Oildale.
Deputies responded in the area of North Chester near the Kern River just after 5:00 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
West was taken to Kern Medical with non-life threatening injuries and released the next day.
KCSO were unable to locate a crime scene or a suspect.
