Fire crews are close to full containment of the Erskine fire and on Tuesday, fire officials hosted a meeting to update the community and answer any of their questions.
Fire chief Brian Marshall says the cause fire is still under investigation but announced that the fire is now 98% contained.
During the meeting, residents expressed concern about what could have been done to communicate better and prevent another fire like this one. Others were concerned that the fire damage was greater because many hadn’t cleared their defensible space.
Chief Marshall said this information is now going to be used to come up with a better plan.
Another community meeting is scheduled for this afternoon to provide information on debris removal for the destroyed properties. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Woodrow Wallace Middle School in Lake Isabella.
