An annual job fair encouraging employment opportunities for people looking for work across Kern County is returning to Bakersfield.

The JobFest event this coming Thursday, May 12, is the latest in a series across the county to help residents looking for work.

The Bakersfield event will be held at The Rabobank Convention Center at 1001 Truxtun Ave. from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Attendees may also arrive early to attend a workshop at 8 a.m. called "Be Your Best at JobFest" to get a better idea of what qualities employers are looking for in prospective employees. Both events are free to the public.

Some 150 employers will be represented Thursday, according to the Kern County Department of Human Services.

Delano JobFest will be held on Thursday, June 16th at Cesar Chavez High School from 9 a.m. to noon.

Those interested should come dressed professionally and have at least 50 copies of their resume.

The events are free to the public.
