Bakersfield's Jefferson Park will soon be getting a facelift thanks to a state grant.
On Tuesday, the California Department of Parks and Recreation announced that 25 parks around the state would be splitting $16 million from the California Youth Soccer and Recreation Development Program.
Among those receiving funding was Jefferson Park in East Bakersfield. The park will receive $350,000 for the renovation and expansion of basketball courts and "construction of minor improvements".
There is no timeline for the improvements to take place.
