An inmate assigned to North Kern State Prison Minimum Support Facility was discovered missing by custody staff on Friday around 9:10 p.m.
Daniel Lucas Salazar, a minimum-custody inmate, could not be located by custody staff during an Institutional Count.
Escape procedures were immediately activated.
Inmate Salazar was serving a 3 year 8 month sentence for second Degree Robbery; use ID of another to obtain personal information, in August 2016.
Salazar is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with short black hair, hazel eyes and weighing approximately 185 pounds.
Kern County law enforcement agencies and surrounding residents have been notified.
Anyone with information on Salazar’s whereabouts or who sees him is urged to notify local authorities or North Kern State Prison, or call 911.
