BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — No matter how much you plan ahead, you still might realize you need a last minute side dish for your Thanksgiving meal. But don’t worry - Hodel’s Country Dining has a recipe with simple ingredients that you can throw together in no time.
"We like to do things from scratch here at Hodel’s and so we do our best to get flavor infused. This is actually a fresh cranberry sauce slash relish that you can make for your Thanksgiving and add something a little bit more spicy, new, rather than a traditional can of cranberry sauce," said restaurant owner Don Hodel.
Start off with one and a half oranges in a food processor, and leave the rind on. Add two red delicious apples and pulse it all together because you're trying to chop it up in bits.
Then add ten ounces of frozen cranberries, seven ounces of pineapple chunks, three quarters of a cup of walnuts and one and fourth cup of sugar.
Blend again in the food processor and you have quick and easy cranberry relish.
