The Kern County Fire Department says they were called out to Liberty High School Wednesday afternoon for a hazmat situation.
KCFD says they responded to Liberty High School around 12:15 p.m. to find nine patients who were having "some type of irritation". A hazmat team was called out to the scene and were unable to detect any substance that may have caused the irritation. KCFD says they ventilated the area and turned the scene over to Kern County Environmental Health.
According to the Kern High School District, several Liberty High Students reported experiencing discomfort after going into a restroom on campus Wednesday. It was then that the administration was informed and 911 was called. They say in the end no students or staff were transported to the hospital.
