Grimmway Farms returned to Lamont for the 5th annual community cleanup on Saturday.
More than 200 volunteers filled two dumpsters with trash and one flatbed truck with tires, mattresses and electronics. Representatives from Kern County Public Works partnered with the Grimmway Farms Safety team to make sure that the trash was disposed of correctly. Volunteers also took the precautions needed to ensure safety as they walked across the city.
“I was born and raised in this area and I go to work here every day,” Jeff Huckaby, President of Grimmway Farms said. “The annual cleanup event is important to me because it allows us to give back to the community as a team. It also helps us set a great example for our kids on how to care for the environment, a concept focal to our business.”
