BAKERSFIELD, CA. — Kern Community Foundation held a press conference at the Padre Hotel this morning to announce the local nonprofits participating in the 4th Annual Give Big Kern.
About 130 local nonprofits are registered for this years Give Big Kern.
"We're really emphasizing the implementation of best practices for getting more funds to the nonprofits," said Louis Medina, Director of Community Impact. "One of them is peer to peer fund-raising which is people reaching out to their friends to get them to donate as a mini fundraiser as part of the big fundraiser."
While Give Big Kern is observed on the first Tuesday in May, which this year falls on May 7, the website www.givebigkern.orgbegan accepting donations on April 7 and will remain live through May 8.
