Former President George H.W. Bush has died at 94

George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st President of the United States of America died on November 30, 2018.

He was 94 and is survived by his 5 children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two siblings.

Bush's death comes after his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush passed away on April 17 at the age of 92.

Bush served as President from 1989 to 1993, overseeing the United States' efforts in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. Bush lost re-election in 1992 to Democrat Bill Clinton. His son, George W. Bush was elected as the 43rd President of the United States in 2000.

His death has spurred reactions from across the county.

President Trump mourned the passing of Bush, praising his 'sound judgment, common sense and unflappable leadership.'

He released a statement, praising Bush's character stating " Through his essential authenticity, disarming wit, and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country, President Bush inspired generations of his fellow Americans to public service - to be in his words, 'a thousand points of light,' illuminating the greatness, hope, and opportunity of America to the world."

Former President, Barack Obama also sent his condolences saying in part "America has lost a patriot and humble servant in George Herbert Walker Bush. While our hearts are heavy today, they are also filled with gratitude. Our thoughts are with the entire Bush family tonight - and all who were inspired by George and Barbara's example."

This news came from his son, President George W. Bush who thanked those who prayed and cared for his father.

George W. Bush also released a statement on Friday on behalf of the entire family.

"Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died," President George W. Bush said. "George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."

Jeb Bush, Jr, Grandson of H.W. Bush shared a photo of H.W. praising his leadership.

George P. Bush, Grandson of H.W. Bush, reacted to the news while sharing a photo of him with the former President at the White House.

Former Vice President Al Gore reacted to the passing of Bush, saying in part that he will remember the late President for his personal kindness and love of this country.

A statement was also released from H.W.'s office. His cause of death is unknown.
