Explorer program recruits young men and women to be part of CHP operations

The California Highway Patrol Mohave Area is seeking qualified young men and women, between the ages of 15 and 21, to be in their Explorer Program. The Explorer Program is an opportunity that allows young men and women to take part in the daily operations of the department. 

Explorer activities include a range of things like riding along with officers in the field, assisting with DUI checkpoints, traffic control, community service, physical fitness training, medical training, and finally organizing fundraisers as well as competitions. 

In order to take part in the Explorer Program, you must be between the ages of 15 and 22, have at least a 2.0 GPA, have no felony convictions, have good citizenship, be interested in law enforcement, and have no drug or alcohol use. 

Spots in the program are limited. Applicants who may want to be a part of the Explorer Program can pick-up an application at the Mohave Area CHP office located at 1313 Hwy 58 Mojave, CA.
