DP: Employee shows up drunk to elementary school

Delano police said that an employee of La Viña Middle School showed up to school drunk. 

At about 12 p.m. on April 13, patrol officers from the Delano Police Department were sent to 1331 Browning Road, La Vina Middle School in regards to an unknown disturbance. 

Officers said they found a Delano Union Elementary School District employee acting erratically. Based on how the employee was acting, medical aid was called and the employee was transported to Delano Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment.

After being seen at the emergency room, It was later determined that the employee was under the influence of alcohol and not suffering from any medical condition.

The employee had detoxed while at the emergency room and was released to the care of family. This case has been forwarded to the Kern County District Attorney’s office for review, pending charges of public intoxication.

No students at La Vina Middle School were involved or impacted by this incident.
