The arrest report for Keith Lamont Cash, obtained by 23ABC reveals more details about an alleged relationship Cash had with a then 13-year-old girl who played for one of the teams he coached.

The former high school girls basketball coach was arrested July 9 for multiple counts of sexual assault of a minor, and was formally charged on Thursday, July 26. He was charged with oral copulation with a person under 16 years and contact with a minor with the intent to commit sexual offense according to BPD.

Documents illustrate a conversation between the victim and Cash set up by police.

During the phone conversation in the arrest report, Cash tells the victim that "fake Facebook profiles" are accusing him of taking advantage of other 13 and 14 year olds.

Documents also show that the then 13-year-old victim said that Lamont started to flirt with her before they began "sexting" in November-December of 2011. Sexual contact continued various locations, including a ball room near the girls’ locker room, the weight room and another room where there was a couch. The victim told police that she thinks that they had sex around 100 times from January 3, 2012 to December 2012, according to the documents.

The arrest report can be read below.

The story began when at about 1 p.m. on July 6, a woman came to the Bakersfield Police Department where she said that in 2011, she was involved in a sexual relationship with a former Ridgeview High School girls’ basketball coach, identified as Keith Lamont Cash Jr, 28, of Bakersfield.

The victim disclosed that the inappropriate relationship began when she was 14 years old and continued for approximately one year, Bakersfield police officials said.

During the investigation Cash Jr. was interviewed and subsequently arrested for multiple counts of sexual assault of a minor.

It was determined that Cash Jr. was employed by the Kern High School District as a girls basketball coach for Ridgeview High School and Stockdale High School from 2011 to 2017.

On Friday July 27th, Bakersfield Police released new documents stating Cash Jr. is facing two charges. The first, oral copulation with a person under 16 years. The second, contacting a minor with the intent of at least one of the following: kidnapping, child abuse, sexual assault and lewd activities. The report shows Carl Jr. is not eligible for county jail and if found guilty he would have to serve his sentence in state prison.

The coach's arraignment has been set for August 8.

23ABC reached out to the Kern High School District on July 9 and a representative gave a statement on the suspect.

"The suspect arrested by the Bakersfield Police Department has not been employed by the Kern High School District for the past 10 months. His role in the district from 2011-2017 was primarily that of walk-on coach at two different high schools.

The Kern High School District does not comment on criminal investigations and/or personnel matters of current or previous employees."
