Hoping to alleviate the wait times and long lines, California's Department of Motor Vehicles will have dozens of offices across the state open early starting Monday.
Beginning July 1, 69 offices, including the Southwest Bakersfield office, will open at 7 a.m. four days a week. According to the DMV, the offices will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays and close at 5 p.m. daily.
On July 24, the DMV will close offices statewide for half a day to re-train employees on customer service skills and to better prepare employees to process Real ID transactions.
