A shooting southeast of Bakersfield Thursday afternoon left one dead.
Crews were called to the scene in the 7900 block of Doney Avenue at around 2:45 p.m. The victim was found lying on the ground in front of a home and died at the scene, according to KCSO.
The shooting victim was believed to have "major injuries," according to KCSO spokesperson Ray Pruitt. The victim was involved in a physical confrontation with the suspect. He was shot at least once.
Kern County Sheriff's deputies are investigating. The suspect left the scene and the motive is unknown.
The victim was a Hispanic male in his 20's.
