The Department of Water Resources has reduced a warning advisory at Pyramid Lake in LA County. It had been in effect since July 26th.
The department lowered the advisory level to caution after detecting a reduced amount of toxins produced by freshwater bacteria. All beaches are at a lakewide caution. DWR urges all recreational users to exercise caution and avoid direct contact with blue-green algae.
Exposure to toxic blue-green algae can cause eye irritation, allergic skin rash, mouth ulcers, vomiting, and cold and flu-like symptoms.
