DELANO, Calif. — On Friday, The Delano Police Department Traffic Unit said it will conduct a Sobriety/Driver’s License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the city limits.
According to officials, the checkpoint will take place between 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Delano PD said that the point of its checkpoints is to reduce the number of people killed and/or injured in alcohol or drug involved crashes.
Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and other expenses that could exceed $10,000. The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 9-1-1 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
