BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A strip club announced on Monday that it was re-opening, but after a call from the public health department, that might not be the case after all.
Deja Vu Showgirls strip club said it was re-opening with new hours. The club announced Monday on social media that it was back open and entertaining new hours from 6 p.m to 2 a.m., according to a tweet.

The tweet went on to say that the club was offering a "safe, healthy" entertainment but did not specify how it plans to maintain health and safety guidelines amid COVID-19.
They followed that up with a second tweet Tuesday morning confirming the new hours.

However, Michelle Corson of the Kern County Public Health Department said, "We did receive a complaint and our staff spoke to the manager today, explaining that they are not on the approved list of essential businesses that can currently be operating. The manager stated she would not operate business at this time. "
Corson added that the manager said she was not aware of the guidelines.
It remains to be seen if the club opens Tuesday night.
