School Street Market in Lamont is closed due to a health code violation.
Thursday the Department of Health said they closed the market and butcher shop for having a 63% score. They also noted the market did not having a working bathroom for employees. The report showed the toilet's handle was broken and employees had to manually flush the toilet from the tank. During the time of the inspection were going home to use the restroom during their shifts.
The report also showed the owner has fixed the toilet and inspectors saw employees using a two compartment sink wash, rinse, sanitize and prepare food.
When 23 ABC called School Street Market, a man, who did not identify himself, confirmed the market is closed as of Friday morning, the toilet is fixed and the market is trying to reschedule another inspection to be able to open.
